Seminar 7
Funding the long term: mainstreaming and sustainable finance for local employment development
Nice, France, 9-10 June 2005
This theme focused on those localities in particular that are likely to face a reduction or discontinuation of public subsidy such as the EU Structural Funds. It explored:
- finance to support local initiatives in the “post-Structural Funds” context;
- alternative funding philosophies for ESF/ERDF/EAGGF in the New Member States;
- revenue-based funding models: converting projects to trading enterprises;
- avoiding dependency: longer term capital investment etc.
