Maximising employment potential
Maximising employment potential: developing local approaches to lifelong learning
This theme explored the horizontal linkages between local actors and how they can best collaborate towards a common purpose of promoting local development through learning. It also looked at how locality-wide coalitions come together, and work together to organise learning that meets the needs of all groups in their area. We wanted to find out what is the ‘local’ added value: how can local collaboration around learning and education genuinely respond to the demands of learning in a given labour market? The purpose was also to assess what the X-factors are that help local economies become ‘success stories’ thanks to coherent lifelong learning strategies.
