Case Study: NOMS Offender Employment and Skills Practice Guide

Reducing re-offending is a key priority for the Government. This has been demonstrated by a number of recent policy developments and, in particular, the National Offender Management Service (NOMS)' 'Reducing Re-offending Action Plan' 2004 and its related 'Reducing Re-offending through Skills and Employment: Next Steps', published in 2006.

The National Offender Management Service (NOMS) commissioned ECOTEC to produce a national guide for NOMS which focuses on the delivery of skills and employment support to offenders. The Guide helps people who work with offenders to give them the support they need to get a job or gain skills to improve their chances of getting a job. In the Guide, you'll find up-to-date information and case studies on the delivery of skills & employment interventions with offenders. People likely to be interested in the Guide include: Prison Service practitioners and management Probation Service practitioners and management Directors of Interventions Education, Training and Employment (ETE) service managers or leads Unpaid Work Managers.

We hope to announce a publishing date for this work very soon.
