eGovernment
The modernising government agenda across the UK and Europe has brought engaging with citizens to the forefront. Key policy drivers are designed to make public service delivery effective and efficient through greater use of ICT. Changes in the relationships between citizens and governments are now of particular interest with a focus on choices, preferences and exploring the influence of consumerism. At ECOTEC we understand the changing environment of online public service delivery through our extensive work in this area.
Our studies in this area have explored cases of real-world applications and initiatives helping us to explore the key issues and identify emergent strategies. We work with experts and stakeholders, and our studies have helped administrations formulate concrete policy recommendations and assisted policy makers and leaders at all levels.

Case Study: Organisational change for citizen-centric eGovernment
This high profile study is looking at how delivery of public services through eGovernment can be made more user- or citizen-focused. Part of this agenda sees a major role for ICT in modernising and making more efficient a wide range of public services.
The study has so far delivered three high profile events across Europe, attended by policy makers and practitioners of eGovernment and organisational change. A series of think papers critique the key issues of the day. A wide variety of materials and case studies have been collected and analysed. A final dissemination event and handbook for change will be published at the end of 2007.
Our work is bringing together key decision makers and practitioners in the fields of e-Government and organisational change, and is helping public administrations learn how to manage change effectively and how to get closer to their citizens. Our aim is to formulate concrete policy recommendations to assist policy makers and leaders at all levels.
